Kirk Reid's Jeep Page
Kirk built his 1945 Flat Fender (CJ2A now) before he had his driver’s license. He started with a CJ5 frame and a body off an old mail carrier jeep. At this time he is running a Buick 225ci V6 and a Ford 10 bolt tranny, modified to top shift like mine. His running gear is homebrew 44 open knuckle front with disk brakes and homebrew 44 rear with disk brakes. (Both ends locked up) Power Steering of course. He has a Ramsey power take off winch with 150’ of cable. You will be able to see his Jeep in stages in the Jeep picture album when I add them. Kirk did all the work on his rig himself !

Kirk now is running a modified 1997 TJ Sport. Modifications include a change-over from coil springs to leaf springs and Dana 44's front & rear with 4.88 gears and lockers. Tires are 35" The frame was lengthened front and rear to allow longer leaf springs. The extra room provided by this in the back will allow the tool box (now inside) to be moved to outside in the back. A swing away tire carrier will be remounted also.
