Snow Cat In Use

1980 Bombi Maiden Voyage

12/29/2014 We decided there was enough snow at our Ham repeater site at Tiger Mt to give the Bombi a test run.

I wanted to test it out somewhere I could pull it out with the Jeep if it broke down. Tiger was a close run and easy to get to.

Monday morning, Patti & I loaded the Bombi up on the trailer and took off for Tiger.

Taken in our yard before trip

SR# 18 Parking Lot just after we got back & loaded the Cat. This was all white when we left at 10:00 AM

Well it got us there & back. Had a Carb problem. Suspect it has some varnish. Unloaded at the parking lot at the summit of State Route 18 & drove it to the top of Tiger. Had just a skiff of snow at parking lot & about 11"/12" at top.

Another run up Haller Pass 1/16/2016

Went with my Son Kirk & the Lawson boys with their Jeeps.

Main reason we went was to cut out the windfall.

3/2/2019 Snowcat Trip to Tiger

Patti & I decided to take a drive up Tiger Mt. in the Snowcat. Left about 1:00 PM. We unloaded at Tiger parking lot on Highway 18 with about 1' and were on

snow all the way up to the WA7HJR radio site on East Tiger. The snow measured 4' at our radio site.

Here we are cutting one of the two trees across the road.

This picture shows Patti standing on a picnic table at the view point just below the upper gate.
